Every one has the right to a standard of living adequate facilities for the health and well–being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services…Everyone has the right to education”(Universal Declaration of Human Rights). These principles of universalism and human rights acknowledge the equal rights of everyone- women, men and children-without discrimination. They demand governance that ensures that all have enough to eat, that no child goes without education, that no human being is denied access to health care, safe water and basic sanitation and that all people can develop their potential capabilities to the full extent. One of the most problematic issues in India's development today is that the livelihood opportunities and economic growth are not increasing according to the population growth. So, the standard of life and other social conditions of the masses as manifested in rampant hunger and malnutrition, high infant and maternal mortality, poor health and low levels of education and exploitation and deprivation of hundreds of millions of women, children and other underprivileged sections. In other hand unlimited exploitation of the limited natural resources presenting another crisis against sustainability of development .

Humanity is helpless due to side effects of undesirable results of economical growth by exploitation of unlimited natural resources and ecological misbalance which are adversely affecting the interest of present generation along with the interest of future generation like these conditions where government machinery is helpless to achieve sustainable development. A group of academicians, social activists, social scientists, development experts, technocrats, bureaucrats and businessmen join together to rectify the problems. The Institute of Social Development is constituted by above group with the hope that this institution can provide a better environment among the society and can preserve the interest of future generation and to save mankind. The Institute works directly at the grassroots, in spirit of enabling communities to build upon their skills, initiatives, resources and entitlements rather than delivering services or solutions to them
